This weeks beer is Ain’t Nothing But A G Thing from Flying Dog Brewery. G Thing is a hazy pale ale and was brewed I’m memory of Gerald “G” Bigelow,  a Flying dog employee who passed away unexpectedly.

G Thing pours a cloudy gold color with a bright white head that leaves a nice lacing on the glass. On the nose you get nice grassy hops with a subtle grapefruit aroma. The flavor seemed to blend fairly well between the sweet and semi-spicy notes. All of the aromas seemed to carry over into taste. Mellow grassy hop spice and grapefruit peel with a light body that is enjoyable and easy to drink. G Thing has a ABV of 5.4% and a low IBU of 25. This beer would be perfect paired with some burgers on the grill. Ain’t Nothing But a G Thing is available at Peco’s Liquor all week at 15% off.

“Flying Dog lost a huge piece of its collective heart last month with THE UNEXPECTED PASSING of Gerald “G” Bigelow.”

“G was so much more than a coworker. He always laughed at our jokes, and he spent hours of his free time patiently teaching a rowdy, inebriated bunch of mutts how to play D&D. He was our friend, our brother, and our Dungeon Master, and we miss him more than any words written here can convey.”

“Our Flying Dog family has decided to pay tribute to our fallen friend the best way we know how: By brewing a beer that’s almost as amazing as he was. Ain’t Nothing But A G Thing has a juicy-fruity yeast strain that G himself had been experimenting with in his own homebrewing escapades. The end result is a deliciously-tropical hazy pale ale.”
