A visit to one of the state’s local breweries is more than just a place to grab a drink; it’s an experience. Because there are so many Delaware breweries to choose from, let’s take a look at a few of our favorites.

Dogfish Head Craft Brewing
As one of the most popular beer brands in the United States, Dogfish Head Brewing Company calls Milton, Delaware home. Opened in 1995, the Delaware craft beer hub offers brew lovers the chance to experience a bocce court, a food truck, and even Men’s Health Best Low-Cal Beer award-winning beer. The brewery also offers free tours daily on a first-come, first-serve basis, with complimentary beer tastings afterward.

Fordham and Dominion Brewing Company
Named after Benjamin Fordham, the man who Queen Anne gave a charter to in 1703 to open a brewery in Dover, Delaware, Fordham and Dominion Brewing Company opened its doors in 1995. The regional brewery provides tours throughout the month so you can get a glimpse of what it’s like to make their beer. They also offer guests the chance to come to their release parties when they come out with new craft beers.

16 Mile Brewing Company
So why is 16 Mile Brewing Company named what it is? When it was first started in the early 1700′, it was said to be 16 miles from anywhere you had to be. Many years later, the brewery has six beers on-tap all year long, while adding more depending on the season. You can stop by this historic Delaware brewery for a one of a kind brewery event, a tour of the premises, and you can even rent a mobile brewery to have at one of your next parties and gatherings.

Whether you’re looking for the best craft beer to purchase, or whether you’re looking for the beer experience of a lifetime, Delaware has a lot to offer. So the next time you’re looking to kick back after a long day at work, Delaware craft beer is a perfect choice.
